Arin Shahbazian

Welcome to my personal website!

I recently finished my Ph.D. in Economics at Virginia Tech (VT) and am currently on the job market. My research interests include health economics, applied microeconomics, causal inference, and machine learning. My recent research studies have focused on health economics and policy, particularly weight control programs and healthcare claims studies. Also, through an internship working with large-scale health claims data, I gained practical experience applying advanced statistical and causal methods to real-world health problems.

I received an M.Sc. in Economics from Sharif University of Technology and a B.Sc. in Applied Mathematics from K. N. Toosi University of Technology, both in Iran. Before joining Virginia Tech, I worked at Netbina, the Parliament Research Center of Iran, the Insurance Research Center of Iran, and the Tehran Chamber of Commerce.
